Scaling a business intelligence leader in cybersecurity.
Doug Manoni has been a visionary leader over his career in business information services, founding and growing successful media startups and closing over 60 M&A transactions. In late 2018 Doug saw the opportunity to serve the rapidly evolving cybersecurity industry with an innovative new business intelligence company, and in partnership with private equity firm Growth Catalyst Partners, he founded CyberRisk Alliance (CRA).
Sheepdog was retained in 2020 to provide enterprise marketing leadership and help the young company manage its portfolio of acquired brands and organic launches. The list of priorities was long and urgent, starting with developing the company’s positioning strategy, portfolio architecture and supporting product launches and sales enablement across six business units.
Working with a single internal marketing manager and carefully-chosen design contractors, we were able to make a big contribution to CRA’s brand stature and revenue growth over an 18-month engagement. Among the marketing accomplishments: re-branding seven businesses, creating a sales collateral library of 50+ media kits and sell sheets, building and implementing Digideck - a robust online sales presentation platform, launching an entirely new corporate website, integrating three acquisitions, and helping drive 200% revenue growth during the period.
As CRA started to outgrow a fractional resource, Sheepdog designed an expanded marketing structure and led recruitment of a terrific full-time marketing VP to take the company forward. Successful engagements like this are strong validation of the fractional marketing leadership model.
